The NE3384 is a high-reliability intelligent dual-channel synchronous rectifier controller, which is applied to the output side rectification of the half-bridge LLC resonant converter. It can realize the optimal control of MOSFET, replace the Schottky diode, and improve the efficiency of the half-bridge LLC converter.
NE3384 has the function of light load mode, which realizes targeted optimization in LLC Skip mode, and improves the problem that SR triggers the opening incorrectly when HB oscillates under Skip_OFF. The NE3384 has an energy saving mode that turns off the gate drive and non-essential circuits when the load current drops below a certain level, thus limiting the IC loss current to less than 110uA.
The fast shutdown capability of the NE3384 supports continuous on-mode (CCM) and intermittent on-mode (DCM) operation.
The NE3384 has an internal overtemperature detection and early warning function OTW, which can be controlled by the OTW pin, such as pulling down the loop optocoupling to shut down the LLC, so that the SR and SRIC can cool down together to avoid further overheating risk due to the SRIC‘s own OTP shutdown drive.
The IC has high integration, simplified peripheral design, and adopts two packages, SOP-8 and ESOP-8, the latter package has low thermal resistance and improved heat dissipation.
