SE8321 is an easy to use 60V constant current buck converter for providing a simple, high efficiency solution for driving high power LEDs. Only 3 external components are required for basic operation. With a 200mV reference voltage feedback control to minimize power dissipation, an external resistor sets the current as required for driving various types of LEDs. Switching frequency is up to 1.2 MHz, allowing small surface mount inductors and capacitors to be used.
SE8321 has very fast PWM dimming response time. The dimming frequency is up to 20 KHz, a high contrast ratio can be achieved. It also integrates a high-side output current sensing circuit, which uses an external resistor to set the nominal average output current.
SE8321 use a smart thermal gradual protection method to reduce the average current of the LEDs continuously in a slope dimming characteristic, not abruptly shutdown chip.
Additional features include user accessible EN/DIM pin for enabling and Linear/PWM dimming of LEDs, thermal shutdown, cycle-by-cycle current limit and over-current protection, soft start.
The SE8321 is available in the SOT23-6 package.
