The SE8409 is a feature-rich synchronous step-down controller that delivers superior efficiency in high power density, point of load (POL). Stable performance and a wide input/output voltage range make the SE8409 available in a variety of DC-DC voltage regulator solutions. Resistance-programmable switching frequencies of 100kHz to 1.2MHz and integrated high-current MOSFET gate drivers with adaptive dead-time provide flexibility to optimize solution size and achieve maximum conversion efficiency. High precision, low output voltages are easily achieved with 0.6V reference voltage and ±1% feedback voltage accuracy, as well as 30ns minimum on-time for high-side power MosFeTs. The SE8409 uses lossless inductor DCR current detection and low-cost BJT remote inductor temperature detection to support precise thermal compensation overcurrent protection.
The SE8409 features a traditional voltage mode control loop with a high gain bandwidth error amplifier and PWM input voltage feedforward to simplify compensation design and achieve excellent loop transient response. FPWM mode eliminates frequency variation and minimizes EMI interference in sensitive applications. PG circuit provides good output display function and fault feedback. Other features include programmable system-level heat off with self-recovery, Sense sensing of output voltage, configurable soft start, pre-biased start, integrated low voltage difference (LDO) regulators, high precision Enable with customizable lag for programmable line undervoltage locking (UVLO), And synchronization for beat sensitive and multi-regulator applications.
The SE8409 is available in a small 24-pin QFN4X4 package.
